About ‘I Am Gifted!’ Program

Adam Khoo in IAG

The ‘I Am Gifted!’ (IAG) Programme was created by Adam Khoo who was inspired to share with students the winning attitudes and learning strategies he had used to transform himself from an underachieving teenager to among the top 1% of academic achievers in the National University of Singapore. As one of the pioneers in the NUS Scholars Programme, Adam realized that being gifted was not just an inborn trait reserved for a privileged few. By studying the habits of ‘gifted students’, he discovered that every child had the potential to achieve extraordinary results with the right encouragement, stimulation and learning methods.

The IAG seed was planted when Adam, at the age of 16, started writing and distributing articles to his friends on memory-building techniques, self-motivation and speed-reading in a bid to help them improve their grades. His articles were even published in Teenage Magazine at that time. By the age of 23, he was already engaged by many top schools to prepare their students for the National Examinations. At 24, Adam made headlines when his first book ‘I Am Gifted, So Are You!™’ topped the National Best Sellers list, beating international titles like ‘7 Habits of Highly Effective People’.

How It All Started

In Adam’s own words, “We realized that there were a lot of kids out there, who, just like us, had the potential to become successful but lacked role models who would give them the confidence, right mindsets and effective strategies to realize their gifts. Although there were a lot of student enrichment programmes around, many were taught by tutors who had little understanding of the local educational system or by ex-teachers who sometimes could not connect with average and underperforming students. This is what inspired us to create the ultimate personal development programme to address the needs of all students: from the top achievers to the underperformers”.

The IAG programme reflects the belief that all children are born gifted in the areas of learning, self-expression, leadership, creativity and motivation.

Over the last decade, the IAG programme has gone on to empower the lives of more than 480,000 students and parents in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, India, Hong Kong, Thailand, UAE and even parts of Europe such as Netherlands. With such enthusiasm and overwhelming support from the regional and international arenas, it has now become Asia’s leading holistic learning programme and a truly Singaporean brand quickly spreading across the globe.
